Speaker: Andrew Pitynski - Renowned Sculptor
Topic: "Sculptor Andrew Pitynski in service to Polonia and Poland"
Andrew Pitynski born in 1947 in Ulanow near Stalowa Wola into a family with a history of guerrilla AK-NOW. Mr. Pitynski is a graduate from Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, a sculptor since 1974 in the United States, and a member of the prestigious National Association of Sculptors in New York.
He is the creator of many monumental sculptures like: the monument "Katyn" in New Jersey, the Husar Avenger in American Czestochowa, the famous "Partisans" in Boston, the Blue Army monument in Warsaw, and a widely known relief of Our Lady of insurgents, holding the hands of the boy's body - the Warsaw Uprising of 1944.
For 10 years, he studied sculpture at American universities. Currently, he creates at Johnson Atelier near Trenton, NJ. He teaches new carving technologies to young artists from around the world. He is recognized as one of the world's leading eminent sculptors. Participates actively in the life of Polish-Americans, he is the commanding officer of 123-SWAP, in Manhattan, New York. He was awarded numerous medals and diplomas of recognition of his art works.
He tirelessly "sculpts" the history of Polonia and Poland, builds the prestige of our nation and the Polish American community.
