PRAYERS WHILE USING THE HOLY WATER
1. “Eternal Father I ask You in the Name of Jesus and through this holy water bless me and forgive me of my wrongdoings. On the touch of this holy water and in the Name of Jesus may all evil spirits flee from me and my home (car, train, plane, etc.) right now to the bottomless pit of hell and stay there forever. Amen. Amen. Amen.”
2. Reverently s ay: “In the most precious Name of Jesus. Amen” while blessing yourself with holy water.
3. Reverently say: “In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and The Holy Spirit. Amen.”
While saying these prayers, bless yourself with the holy water, marking the sign of the holy cross on your forehead, hands, feet, heart, etc.
While saying one or all these prayers, sprinkle the holy water (marking reverently sign of the holy cross):
1) In the four directions of the world;
2) in every corner of your room and house;
3) on doorsteps and doorknobs (especially of front and back doors);
4) on yourself (marking sign of the holy cross on the forehead);
5) on your dear ones (especially sick, suffering, dying);
6) on your family and business vehicle;
7) bless your children’s bicycles, their schoolbooks;
8) your TV sets, computers and phones (be careful!);
9) on your bed (before going to sleep);
10) on letters and packages that you are going to send by mail, etc.
The Church urges the frequent use of holy water in times of danger such as storms, fires, sickness, and when there is any type of conflict in the home or community.
Do you know that holy water has also the power to remit venial sin? This is not meant to replace confession.
It is very important to carry holy water always with us to be prepared for different challenging situations.
