“The Girl from the North”
(aka "About Love")
We invite you to join us for a Polish-language musical performance like no other: “The Girl from the North” (aka "About Love") on Sat., Feb. 24 at 8:00 PM at the Associated Polish Home – 9150 Academy Rd. in NE Philadelphia. Tickets are $15 at the door.
This show by Piwnica U Dziadka – the Polish Musician’s Club – is one that deals with heart-felt emotions of nostalgia and longing. This time, we’ll touch on the memories of past lovers, love long lost, and loves we may have left behind…but who live on forever in our hearts.
Joining us onstage will be:
MARIUSZ KIEŁBOWICZ – A soulful singer and guitarist with a rapidly-growing fan base in the Polish-American community. Mariusz will showcase some some of his gorgeous original love songs and he’ll dip into some old favorites as well.
ANNA RAK & PAOLO C. PEREZ (piano) – This duo will present "Love in Retro Style", performing sentimental songs popular in Poland immediately after WWII. Anna most recently graced the main stage at Polish Home in the dynamic role of Polish poet and writer Agnieszka Osiecka in the hit play "The Story of Two Poets". (And Paolo will tickle the ivories on Piwnica U Dziadka’s new piano!)
AGA AND THAT MAN – We welcome this musical pair that features Agnieszka Jeleniewska (vocals) and Piotr Bernasiuk (guitar). The extremely talented duo debuted at Piwnica U Dziadka’s last love-themed show and immediately garnered a devoted following. Their set at this show will focus on the theme of “Bittersweet Love”.
If you’re in love, out of love, or looking for love…we welcome you - with hearts wide open - to join us - and bring your loved ones with you! ZAPRASZAMY!
